At St. Mary we understand that an effective Youth Ministry program
cannot work
without the cooperation, and involvement of parents. As the Catholic
Church teaches,
“…parents are consecrated by the sacrament of marriage to a specific
function: they are active co-workers in the salvific and
evangelizing mission of the Church, a service they perform by their
educational duties toward their children.”(Gaudium et Spes no. 6).
Parents are the primary teachers of the faith to their children. Our Youth Ministry program seeks to aid parents in that mission by being a support and resource that parents can turn to, especially during the teenage years.
Here are some resources we currently offer:
Parent Gathering
St. Mary Religious Education and Youth Ministry programs are pleased
to announce their Parent Gathering Speaker Series for 2012. We will
have five speakers from January to May designed to provide you, as a
parent, with resources that will aid in the faith formation of your
children and in family life. Each speaker in our series will cover a
particular topic that is relevant to parenting in today’s world.

Tuesday, January 10th: 6:30pm –8pm: Mr. Kevin Bohli, Human
Sexuality: How to talk

Tuesday, February 7th: 6:30pm –8pm: Mr. Vaughn Treco, Praying as a
family: How do
we do it?
Tuesday, March 13th: 6:30pm –8pm: Mrs. Judy Mazzarella, Parenting
101: Fostering
positive discipline.
Tuesday, April 24: 6:30pm –8pm: Sr. Patricia M. McCormack, IHM, Ed.
D: Parenting a
‘Tween: Traveling the middle school years with confidence.
